Whether you’re familiar with the soothing sounds of Danish musician Maire Dahlstrom from her solo project or via her collaborative work with Her Songs, who we recently interviewed, you’ll know that we’re real big fans of this intuitive artist here at TMR. Following intimate tracks ‘Like Sand’ and ‘Home With You’, Dahlstrom shares a magnetic new cut from her upcoming debut album. ‘Wandering’ is one of the more electronically-charged offerings from the London-based artist whose music is often steeped in lessons learnt from old school RnB and golden soul greats. It has a distinctly London sound, with those jazzy flavours expanded by reverb and an experimental production making this track both elusive and danceable. For Dahlstrom, she made this song “to feel like being lost”, as it’s “something I feel like everyone goes through at some point in their life - and something I feel a lot of musicians can relate to when navigating their career as an artist.” Right now, musicians may be feeling more adrift than ever before and yet the opportunity for creation is what you can make of it. - Hannah Thacker
